Healthy Minds & Healthy Bodies

Task Two: Part One

So how do we know if we are making healthy choices?   We need to start from the start and have a look at the choices we are making at the moment. This will help us identify whether there is anything we could improve.

Sign up to
calorieking. This is a food and exercise journal which allows you to record your choices regarding nutrition and exercise day to day. It also provides you with a database of foods and their nutritional value, just in case you want to find some information, before you indulge those tastebuds! Spend some time navigating around the site looking at the various options you have to keep track of the nutrients you consider most important. Play with the settings, and structure everything to suit your needs when evaluating your lifestyle choices.
Remember this is a daily diary, and it can be modified at any time, at home, at school or anywhere.

Do you think there are choices you will identify in the diet diary as being unhealthy? Add a post to the blog.

Wouldn't it be interesting...

to identify some health habits in the wider school community. Provided here is an example question for a poll that we are going to develop to obtain information about the lifestyle choices of our peers and teachers. Think about the things we've learned so far. What is important with regards to healthy lifestyle choices?

Use your knowledge to pose questions which will enable us to assess the choices being made by the other students and teachers. Your teacher will email the poll to student and teacher intranet email accounts.
